So you think you can Craft?

The perfect workshop for all levels of needlecraft. We have a tutor who is fluent in all sorts of needlecraft. You can come and get help learning knitting, crochet etc. Or you can bring your project and work in the company of other crafters enjoying a cuppa. These courses are ongoing.

School Holiday craft sessions

We made some awesome, very in-vogue plant hangers made from macrame-ed t-shirt yarn.

Then moved on to printing on fabric and paper. It’s messy, fun and look at the results!! We used textured surfaces to print with; potato / onion stamps, foam stamps, meat trays, string around wood etc.

On the 18th of June, just before the winter cold set in, we prepared by covering our hotties with vintage woollen blanket pieces.

Flax Weaving Workshop

Ann-Margaret Strickland was the tutor of a fantastic workshop where we had lots of fun and learned:

  • karakia (prayer of acknowledgement and thanks to mother nature for supplying us with flax)
  • harvesting of harakeke (flax)
  • nuturing and maintenance of harakeke
  • weave basic food basket (kono)
